If you’re coming by public transport or car sharing, try to get to Tarbes (the nearest large town city, 30 minutes away) or if you can’t, Toulouse (around 2 hours by car, 4-5 hours by public transport). If you’re coming by car, we’ll let you check with your GPS.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Tarbes (Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées, LDE), but depending on where you’re coming from, there may be more (or cheaper) flights to Toulouse (Toulouse-Blagnac, TLS). When comparing the two, don’t forgot that Toulouse is further away.

From Toulouse to Tarbes

From the airport: to get to the train or bus station, you can take a [shuttle bus] (navette) directly from the airport (« Gare Matabiau » or « Marengo SNCF » stop, it’s the same thing). The journey takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic and costs 9€.

Departures every 15 min, 25 min journey to the center of Toulouse. For more information see Tisseo, the Toulouse metropolitan transport service.

By train: see sncf-connect or Toulouse Matabiau - Tarbes timetable. It’s a 2h journey, tickets cost between 10€ and 30€, fairly regular timetable from morning to evening. If you’re coming by train from outside Toulouse, look for a direct connection to Tarbes.

By bus: it’s a bit limited, but there are a few blablabus. Tickets cost between 10 and 18 euros, 2 to 3 connections per day.

If you’re coming by bus from elsewhere than Toulouse, look for the Tarbes route, as not all buses go through Toulouse.

From Tarbes to Vic-en-Bigorre

From the airport: there’s a shuttle bus to the city center (line T7 or line TL), it’s a 30 min ride, ticket costs 3€. Be careful, buses don’t run in the evening (approx. 7am-6pm): see the timetable on the shuttle bus’ website. Get off at Gare SNCF (train station), not gare routière (bus station).

By bus: there are two lines, that pass near the train station (gare SNCF). Single ticket price is 2€.

Please note: buses run much less frequently at weekends!

Car sharing: If you know people with vehicles on site, make arrangements with them.

Otherwise, you can call the UEEH cell phone (number communicated by email after registrations) to arrange for a volunteer to pick you up outside bus times (25 min by car from the SNCF station, 30 from the airport).

Once arrived in Vic-en-Bigorre

The school is at a 10mn walk from the city center (on the map, the red star indicates the bus stop, the green arrow represents our school entrance

Map of the town of Vic-en-Bigorre. The bus stop is near the town center. The high school is off-center, on the other side of a river, and close to the hospital.

It is possible to park your car in the parking lot of the school only if you sleep in it. Otherwise, the car must be parked outside of the school.

If you’re bringing your van, it is possible to park it inside the school on a parking lot that will be indicated, but it is good to know that there won’t be many trees and therefore no shadow. We have the authorization to create something with fabrics if we don’t damage the space being borrowed to us.

Warning! We have a limited number of cards to open the entry barrier, so we won’t be able to open it at any time of the day. If you arrive outside of specified hours, please park in front of the school and enter it by foot.

For any emergency, you can reach us on the UEEH cell phone between 9am and midnight during the edition (number communicated by email after registrations).
